The American Farndales

Until this page is developed further, you will find further information on the pioneer Farndale in US: James Farndale

Another American line appears to have derived from George William Farndale

Anthony Reginald Chesters Farndale (944), MSN Mcguire, born Westminster 1936, son of Walter Reginald and Mary (nee Mcquire) Farndale (735) went to USA.

The Ellis Island Website shows William George and Annie E Farndale (492) both of Great Ayton, North Yorkshire, travelled to USA arriving on 15 April 1907 on board the Cedric (Manifest No 5 & 6). They had departed from Liverpool. These records show people who emigrated to USA to work and make money, to improve their position at home - many later returned (as did William). The immigration centre at Ellis island processed all people who entered USA from the west. More information about Ellis Island can be found at the web-site.

William Farndale (677) can be found on the Ellis Island Website which shows William Farndale arrived in US on 2 December 1923 on board the Honorata (Manifest No 20). He had departed from Cardiff. These records show people who emigrated to USA to work and make money, to improve their position at home - many later returned (as did William it seems). The immigration centre at Ellis island processed all people who entered USA from the west. More information about Ellis Island can be found at the web-site.

James' son, Gordon Elliot Farndale (924) was an aerospace engineer who worked on the space shuttle and the ill-fated Challenger
